Amali Prim i Seguí (1878-1937). Metge, músic i periodista

This book is about Amali Prim Seguí who was born in Lleida on March 3, 1878. He studied medicine at the University of Barcelona in 1902, he would become, at the same time, an excellent pianist and brilliant musicologist. His life took place in fields as diverse as medicine, music, journalism, politics, literature, history, hiking, etc. He was a person capable of activating multiple and diverse activities. In addition to being a doctor, he was the founder of the Wagnerian Association of Barcelona, also the promoter of Wagnerism in Lleida, concert pianist, president of the choir La Lleida Nova and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lleida, the director of the magazine Boletín Médico and secretary of the proceedings of the College of Physicians of Lleida, founder and director of the magazines Lleida and Revista Sanitaria, the secretary of Republican youth, director of the magazine Nostre Cant de l’Orfeó Lleidatà…, and was even president of a chess club. Unfortunately, the continuity of his work was cut short due to his tragic death, on November 2, 1937, as a victim of the bombing of the city of Lleida by Franco’s aviation during the Civil War (1936-1939).
