This volume gathers seven studies that focus on different Spanish cities (Alcoy, León, Lleida, the Latina district, the Alcobendas San Sebastián de los Reyes suburbs, Pamplona and Vitòria). All of them look into the recent urban growth process emphasizing the analysis of property development. In spite of the varied temporal range and the diverging approaches, the existence of remarkable coincidences and common structural features make possible a characterization of the creation and appropriation processes of the urban space during the last fifty years.
