This book includes an in-depth study of two neighbouring villages during the Middle Ages: Butsènit and Montgai. The approach taken by the author is religious, economic, political and jurisdictional. As it can be deduced from all the data taken from first source materials found in archives, the demography and urban structures of these areas were affected by the frequent wars of those times. Montgai and Butsènit’s research provides information about the realities and contradictions that shaped the day-to-day reality of medieval Catalonia.
