The dative clitic is more than a clitic

This text focuses on the study of Catalan dative clitics while it establishes some accurate generalizations for the system of pronominal Romance clitics. The authors explain the way Catalan, due to its morphosyntactic traits, brings to light some relevant aspects of the pronominal system that can be hardly appreciated in other Romance languages. In fact, it helps readers discover linguistic connections and make remarks about the properties of languages.
