Three centuries after the abolition of Lleida’s General Study House and the Degree of Medicine, the comeback of the city’s university was the wish of many citizens. Why do Medicine studies still exist in Lleida? Was its return inevitable, were the chances of failure high?
This history chronicle about the city and the University of Lleida tries to answer these questions and shed light on the unknown stories that shape the roots of our society. Frequently, people focus on the names of the stories’ protagonists while being unaware of all the anonymous individuals who devoted their lives to civic and altruistic goals. This is the case of the comeback of Lleida’s Medicine studies.
