For the first time, this book gathers several works by Joaquim Roy that were scattered in Spanish and Iberoamerican books and magazines. The first part focuses on key concepts related to journalism and essay theory. These can be applied to the practical analysis carried out in other chapters. The second part is devoted to José Martí and connects with the third section of the book as an exploration of relevant contemporary writers: Camilo José Cela, Octavio Paz, Mario Vargas Llosa and Carlos Fuentes.
