Crop health depends on the correct establishment of integrated control programs that combine efficiency and sustainability. Weeds can become harmful agents in agricultural systems by reducing production, hindering agricultural tasks or reducing the quality of the product. Thus, Weeds, Agricultural Entomology and Plant Pathology constitute the three pillars of plant health where the success of a control program depends, above all, on a correct diagnosis of these agents. In the case of weeds, it is an essential fact to take the decisions in the seedling stage, at which time the chosen control method will be more effective and will have a greater effect on the size of the population.
This work provides detailed and exhaustive information in order to be able to identify about 330 species of weeds in the seedling stage. The treatment followed is easily understandable and is supported by more than 1,000 colour photographs, more than 400 drawings and 50 comparative tables. It constitutes the exponent of the authors’ gained experience during 30 years, in the study of the weeds of our crops.
