Lima’s foundation took place in 1535. From then on, the development of urban spaces has found a representation in literature. This text is a journey throughout the works that focus on the evolution of Peru’s capital while providing an approach to the literary tradition of the city and its noticeable traits: from Ricardo de Palma’s works at the end of the 19th century, to Julio Ramón Ribeyro’s texts dating from the middle of the 20th century.
