L’abisme de llum en Màrius Torres

This book is a new contribution to the religiosity of Màrius Torres (1910-1942). The first part, which has a preliminary nature, the background of his reflections is highlighted, stretching the thread of family history and investigating the development of modern spiritualism in the Hispanic and Catalan context, up to the publications of the first spiritualists from Lleida. This tour leads to the career and work of Mariano and Humbert Torres, the poet’s paternal grandfather and father. In the second part of the volume, which is the core of this essay, the work of Màrius Torres is examined to highlight the function of poetry in his intellectual life in order to illuminate the itinerary that marked his aesthetic and religious dimension. All this brings us closer to the author’s vital attitudes, especially revealing his spiritual sensitivity, and how it is transferred into his writing.
