La revolució liberal a Lleida (1820-1823)

The aim of this book is, on the one hand, to delve into the evolution of politic power during the Spanish Liberal Triennium in Lleida and, on the other hand, to analyze the progression of liberalism’s armed wing (The National Militia). This research focuses on the strong political polarization in Lleida’s city council that resulted from Riego’s revolution in 1820. It also provides information about how, step by step, absolutist forces gave way to personalities close to the constitutional system.
