La premsa de la província de Lleida (1898-1939). Territoris, societats i cultures entre la tradició i la modernitat

This book is a scientific analysis and review of the periodical press published in the province of Lleida between two emblematic dates: 1898 and 1939. The research connects directly, in an intimate and multidimensional way, with the genesis and configuration of the mass society in Catalonia. The main objective is to analyze the multiple and different rhythms, degrees and dynamics of the press implantation in the province of Lleida by paying attention to each territory and society. It also focuses on society and mass culture during its gestation, configuration and consolidation throughout the country. For this purpose, the 469 daily and non-daily publications published throughout the province have been located, identified and registered, without distinctions of any kind and following the current administrative and territorial division. Perhaps, the main contribution of this research lies in the extension of its socio-territorial framework, the ambition of its chronological framework and, above all, in the concretization and diversification of its corpus of study.
