La Mariola desde dentro y desde fuera. Efectos internos del estigma territorial

These pages focus on territorial stigmatization, a common trait in the new forms of marginalization derived from the capitalist mismatch worsened by the arrival of neoliberal policies.

La Mariola is a stigmatized neighborhood located in the city of Lleida. This study analyzes the internal consequences of this stigmatization process focusing on its effects on social relationships and everyday life for its inhabitants. It includes a short tour through La Mariola’s history and contextualizes its social reality taking into account this stigmatization process and its consequences. At the same time, this text provides information about several types of violence related to this stigma.
