Human migrations are a global phenomenon that has taken place throughout the history of humankind. In Catalonia, the movement of people in space has been determined by migratory flows triggered by economic, political or working circumstances that forced people to leave looking for better life chances. The book analyzes how this situation affected Lleida during the 20th century and its Francoist period. This migratory flow implied a strong urban and demographic stimulus in Lleida’s society.
