Spain has gradually achieved the valuation and acknowledgement of cultural diversity in classrooms by transitioning from a centralized education system to a pedagogical intercultural system that takes into account the cultural variety of the state. This text analyses the treatment of cultural diversity in schools of three autonomous communities (Catalonia, Aragon and Balearic Islands) and talks about experiences carried out in other Spanish geographic regions.
