Students studying the Social Labor degree at the University of Lleida were asked to read 44 Letters from the Liquid Modern World written by sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, where the author develops the theory of the liquid society and explains it using letters. These students had to complete a specific task: write the author back answering his letters. As a result, they discovered the sociological thought and its theories. This essay gathers 19 of the letters written by the students and connects their contributions to those of Zygmunt Bauman by starting a discussion that revolves around our times’ liquidity. The final result is shaped by reflection, the vital and generational differences, and the memories of the transition from a solid, safe and stable society to the volatile and uncertain liquid society.
