A thorough analytical study that attributes an excellent Charles IV portrait to Goya. This was the first one of a collection of paintings of the king created by the Aragonese painter. It shows readers the original prototype patented by Goya between February and April of 1789. The text focuses on the birth of the idea and the creation of the first official portrait of Charles IV.
