Els estudis lèsbics, gais, trans i queer. Una introducció pràctica

The first part of the contents of this volume derives from university teaching in introductory subjects to gay, lesbian, trans and queer studies. The first two sections correspond to fundamental questions to approach its content, since they deal with the birth of lesbian and gay studies or the reflection on a hypothetical «homosexual» identity, while the later ones, around gender, queer or trans studies, aim to enrich critical thinking through practical activities. The second part of this book contains various works on topics dealt with in the first or inspired by the theoretical and methodological currents discussed. In the same way, they are a simple tasting of the multiple possibilities offered by these studies, from medieval laws against sodomy to queer pedagogies, passing through Terenci Moix, Maria-Mercè Marçal or Paul B. Preciado. The best lesbian, gay, trans or queer studies seem far from being able – often also wanting – to become an exact science that offers master recipes and absolute truths.
