Rediscovered at the end of the 19th century in Girona’s cathedral, the Tapestry of Creation is one of the great universal works of the Middle Ages. Its relevance resides in its remarkable size and in its complex set of needlework images. This tapestry was studied by researchers such as Pere de Palol, who contributed to an almost insuperable understanding of this artwork. The coincidence in time of the most accurate restoration of this piece of art (at Centre de Restauració de Béns Mobles de Catalunya), the release of a research work with a new approach to the history and existence of the Tapestry of Creation and the recently expanded knowledge about Girona’s Cathedral gave this volume the chance to focus on a new milestone concerning the study of this outstanding tapestry.
