During the last years, identity and gender studies have significantly enriched the intellectual landscape. This text analyses concepts, rules, practices, mythologies and stereotypes related to sexuality and eroticism. It also encourages an in-depth review of gender and identity beliefs. This has been possible through a multidisciplinary approach that takes into account artistic and linguistic representations, academic theories, political activism and even intellectual engagement.
