This volume analyses the rural schools as drivers of change in the fight against depopulation, focusing on rural schools in the Lleida region. The starting point is interviews with 50 professionals (management teams, mayors, etc.).
In this way, we will discover the actions and projects that are being implemented in schools and in networks with the educational community and the surrounding area. We will identify resilient and innovative practices to promote student educational success, family engagement, equity, equal opportunities, coexistence, social cohesion, and a sense of belonging to the municipality. We will examine their role as agents of territorial
transformation, their interaction with municipal policies, and their impact on community life.
In short, the research results aim to contribute to building a renewed school culture and teaching practices that will enable us to address the future challenges of the current crisis, as well as to identify and highlight innovative practices that contribute to the revitalisation of rural areas, the construction of a more sustainable future, and successful strategies in the fight against depopulation.
