L’Associació de Música de Lleida (1942-2001). Música, músics i ciutat 60 anys de concerts

L’Associació de Música de Lleida (1942-2001) was one of the first cultural and musical initiatives to emerge in the city after the Spanish Civil War. Despite the difficulties and limitations imposed by the historical context, it revitalized musical life in our city, carrying out its work uninterruptedly for almost 60 years. To follow its footsteps is to follow the evolution of music in our city.
The organized concerts by the association placed Lleida on the map for many renowned musicians, becoming a stop on their concert tours, while on other occasions it provided an opportunity to show to the public the early work of local performers, without forgetting the great musicians in Lleida, such as Enric Granados, Ricard Viñes, and Emili Pujol.
The trajectory of this organization also allows us to understand musical, quotidian, local, social, historical, political, artistic, economic, strategic, and aesthetic aspects linked to Lleida and its history.
