The book is the result of an interuniversity and international, transdisciplinary, and transgressive collaboration that has developed over the past six years the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón.
Pedagogy and art have found a third space in which to generate alternative responses to homogenization, segregation, and exclusion. A space to revisit our preconceived ideas, our routinised practices, our cookie-cutter solutions.
This monograph’s primary objective is to show other ways of doing things, based on key concepts and pedagogical models embodied in these practices and the people and contexts that inhabit them. It questions where we start from and what we do.
A second objective could be to inspire other education and art professionals with suggestions, examples, and illustrations that are pedagogically and aesthetically appealing, challenging, groundbreaking, and exciting. To propose alternatives to how we do things, putting art at the service of values of inclusion and interculturality.
A third objective is to think about the problematic elements, questions, issues, and dilemmas for education and give the professionals a transdisciplinary perspective (pedagogical, artistic, anthropological, and formative). A constant questioning of why and for do we transform education.
The work is structured into five sections, which capture, in a graphic and dynamic way, the different ingredients of a training methodology that has been taking shape and continues to evolve based on different organically articulated elements.
