A terra domestica ad verba inlustranda. Homenaje al profesor Javier Terrado Pablo

The fifth volume of the “Quaderns de Sintagma” collection is a tribute to Javier Terrado by his friends and colleagues due to his retirement after nearly half a century of teaching and research. After an exhaustive compilation of his publications, we find around thirty works of various kinds distributed in seven sections. Considering that he is a disciple of Joan Corominas, it is logical that half of them are dedicated to toponymy: seven on Catalan-Aragonese onomastics (where Ribagorza has special representation: the “terra domestica”) and seven on Hispanic topics. Then there are three studies on vocabulary (Spanish, Catalan, and Aragonese) and four on different aspects of linguistics (history of linguistics, grammar, translation, didactics, etc.). This is followed by a section on miscellaneous literary criticism (various languages, cultures, and genres). These are followed by three laudatory and affectionate texts dedicated to him by friends and family. The book closes with two works of art: a poem by Jaume Pont and a drawing by Antoni Llevot that serves as a colophon.
